"I knew I needed a motivation from somebody to achieve my goals...That person was my personal trainer."
I entered this year's (Get Fit) competition with a few goals in my mind. It was not just to lose weight, which was in the theme – "lose big and win big." I wanted it to be more about me getting stronger mentally, by committing to set my mind to overcome any obstacles during the duration of the competition.
I also wanted to change the pattern of my life by becoming more active physically, keeping a healthy diet, and staying focused on these goals, knowing that weight loss would follow. The only question was how much? I thought it would be as much as my body would let me.

"I went from a size 42 jean to a size 36. The Get Fit Challenge might be over, but this adventure to healthy living is just beginning. Thank you XSport Fitness!"
Participating in the Get Fit Challenge has been one of THE BEST decisions I have ever made. I was very nervous going in, but shortly learned it was not going to be as hard as I had envisioned. I have always been a big boy growing up. Not height wise, more so width wise. I was 190lbs. by the time I was in 6th grade. Entering high school my weight was all the way up to the 230's. By the time I was out of school and working full time I was a pretty big 270lbs. My diet consisted of energy drinks, chips, cheeseburgers, and Chinese food.
My trainer, Will, really helped instill good eating habits as well as a really good exercise regimen. Eating 6-7 small meals throughout the day and drinking plenty of water to help keep my body hydrated after heavy workout sessions.

"I wanted to demonstrate that we each have this incredible ability to push ourselves and succeed and it is never a failure unless one quits. Don't quit, you can do it."
In high school, I was physically active: I did football, wrestling, and lacrosse. Being an active team player, I did all the drills, endured all the practices, and found myself enjoying all the physical activity. I was stronger, faster and eventually reached my lowest weight at one hundred and forty pounds. Joining these sports gave me focus, discipline, and perseverance. I had become a better athlete, student, and person overall. Despite athletic success, my weight began to creep on me as I entered college.
As with any college student, I enjoyed the newfound freedom and found myself adopting unhealthy habits. All-night study sessions, weekend parties, and fast food runs were all staples in my academic career. Unfortunately, these habits accompanied me into medical school and it was during my first year that I had reached almost three hundred pounds. Something needed to change.

"During a challenging time in my life, I managed to lose over 40 pounds, gain self-confidence and feel great, when typically I would have gained weight and become irritable due to the stress. This is thanks to the XSport facilities, trainers, supplements and support of the staff at the front desk."
The XSport Fitness Get Fit Challenge was both inspiring and stress-relieving for me; I have found how relaxing, but also invigorating working out can be during times of great stress or when demotivated.

"I am no longer known as the big kid. That has changed forever! The Get Fit Challenge has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I was heading down a bad path, but now I am healthier than I have ever been."
The XSport Get Fit Challenge has sincerely changed my life! I just graduated high school and received a year membership at XSport as a graduation gift. When I first heard about the challenge, I didn’t know what to expect and was unmotivated.
I have tried to go on plenty of “diets” but never succeeded. I was always a heavier set kid. At night I would drive through a fast food place and eat in my car alone. I felt absolutely terrible every time, but I couldn’t stop. I gained a lot of weight through high school and weighed 270 pounds. I started to become very depressed. I would sit at home and not ever want to go out. I was cranky very often and had a back pain that was only getting worse

"The Get Fit Challenge...helped me become an overall happier, confident person. I no longer wear baggy t-shirts to the gym, and I’ll even look at myself in the mirror while working out. I wouldn’t be where I am today without this challenge."
I am a gym rat. I don’t know when it started, nor did I ever think in a million years I’d be one. I’ve always been the big girl and just figured I would always be that way, so why even bother trying? I mean I wanted to, but never did. Or when I did, I’d start some crazy intense workout for all of two days and assume “I can do this every day, no problem.” That did not go well. Nor did the plan I wrote on my little white board. No eating fries, pizza, etc. (basically any food I loved.) I told myself “just don’t eat it, how hard can that be?” That whole plan was always a bust and lasted all of a few days. Then I would go back to my normal ways, and I slowly started expanding. It wasn’t until my best friend Izzy suggested we join a gym that I started considering changing my ways, and if it wasn’t for her finding XSport, I don’t know where I would be now.
